Competitors may arrive at the venue beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 21st, and park in the Ferry Beach parking lot to transfer boats from trailers to dollies.  Boats and trailers may not be parked in the CYC parking lot.

Boats may be stored on dollies overnight and launched from the north end of Ferry Beach, adjacent to the Charlevoix Yacht Club, each race day. Alternatively, boats may be launched from trailers at the nearby Charlevoix Municipal Boat Launch (there is a fee). Details will be spelled out in the Launching document, available in July.

No boats, cars, or trailers may be left in the Ferry Beach parking lot overnight. Overnight parking options will be spelled out in the Parking document, available in July.

Lodging and Dining

Charlevoix is a popular resort town with many options for housing including hotels, bed and breakfasts, camping and vacation home or condo rentals. One good starting point is the Visit Charlevoix/Lodging page

We recommend making your lodging reservations early for the best selection.

There are also many dining options in Charlevoix. Your registration fee includes dinner Saturday night at the Yacht Club, as well as snacks on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Food will also be available for purchase on Thursday night at the club, but dinner is NOT provided on Friday.

We suggest making a reservation in advance if you want to dine at one of the downtown restaurants in Charlevoix on Friday . Or, if you prefer a simpler option, The Back Lot, which offers a variety of food carts and a bar, is adjacent to our launch area and does not require reservations.

Melges 15 Summer Invitational in Charlevoix

Want to enjoy more Melges 15 racing ahead of the Great Lakes Championship?  The Charlevoix Yacht Club is hosting an open Melges 15 Invitational Race on Sunday, June 22, 2025, which offers a great opportunity for M15 racers to kick off their summer season. We also offers Melges 15 fleet racing on Thursday nights for those who are in the area.  Get the details on our racing page
